- What size dumpster do I need?
- How much does dumpster rental cost in Buffalo?We quote one flat price up front based on the container size and the material. It includes delivery, the rental period, pickup and a disposal weight allowance, with the per-ton overage rate stated in advance. Call (716) 303-4728 and you will have a number before you hang up.
- Do I need a permit for a dumpster in Buffalo?Not on your own driveway or private lot. On a City of Buffalo street, sidewalk or tree lawn, City Code § 413-4(C) requires a permit from the DPW Traffic Division (Room 512, City Hall, (716) 851-5366), applied for at least seven business days ahead with a $1,000,000 certificate of insurance naming the City and a traffic-protection diagram. - How fast can you deliver?Call before noon and we can usually deliver the same afternoon across the City of Buffalo and the closest towns. Otherwise, next day. Our yard is at 747 Walden Avenue, minutes from the I-90 and I-190.
- How long can I keep the dumpster?As long as your project needs. Most home rentals run three to seven days; contractors keep containers for weeks with swaps. Tell us the dates when you book. In the Village of Depew the village permit adds a daily fee after 14 days.
- What can’t go in the dumpster?New York keeps electronics, rechargeable and lead-acid batteries, mercury items and fluorescent tubes, tires, appliances that still hold refrigerant, friable asbestos and household hazardous chemicals out of dumpsters and the trash. - Where does the waste go?Erie County owns no landfill, so loads go to permitted transfer stations and on to out-of-county landfills. Most of our construction and demolition loads go to Casella’s C&D transfer station on Union Road in West Seneca; other loads go to the East Side Transfer Station on South Ogden Street in Buffalo or to WM’s Chaffee landfill.
- Will the dumpster damage my driveway?We set the container down rather than dragging it and put boards under the rails on request. Tell us if the surface is new or decorative and we will plan the placement with you.
- Can I put a dumpster on the street in the suburbs?It depends on the town. The Village of Lancaster permits every dumpster ($25), Depew has a temporary-dumpster permit ($10 residential), Lackawanna can permit a third of the street, and the villages of Orchard Park and Hamburg need written permission from public works. Cheektowaga needs Town Board permission for any obstruction. Amherst, Tonawanda, West Seneca, Kenmore and the towns of Lancaster, Orchard Park and Hamburg publish no dumpster permit, so containers stay on private property there.
- Do you offer junk removal as well as dumpsters?Yes. Our junk removal crew loads, hauls and disposes of furniture, appliances and whole-house cleanouts, priced by the load.
- How much space does the truck need?About 60 feet of straight clearance to back in and roll the container off, and roughly 14 feet of overhead clearance, free of low wires and branches. Send a photo of the spot if you are unsure.
- Can I fill it above the top?No. The load must be level with the top rail so the truck can tarp it and travel legally. We will ask you to level an overfilled container before we haul it.
- What happens if I go over the weight allowance?You pay the per-ton overage rate we quoted when you booked, nothing more. Light loads rarely get near the allowance; heavy loads are why we size concrete and roofing into smaller boxes.
